Rain expected for weekend

Inland Valley Daily Bulletin – 7/13/07

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY - The Inland Empire may finally see some rain this weekend.

After the week's periodic mountain thunderstorms that brought little to no rain, the storm heading toward the area today is expected to be different, National Weather Service officials said.

"We think we'll see some rain with this one," said forecaster Robert Balfour.

A 20 percent chance of rain is expected this afternoon and Saturday afternoon. Forecasters also issued a hazardous weather notice for thunderstorms in Apple and Lucerne Valley. The San Bernardino Mountains are expected to have scattered showers and thunderstorms all weekend.

But the rain won't bring the warm temperatures down very much. It's expected to be 91 to 99 degrees today and nearly 100 degrees Saturday. The mountains will be slightly cooler at 80 to 90 degrees.#
