Rate hikes ahead for Camrosa water

Ventura County Star – 10/14/08

From staff reports

Camrosa Water District customers are going to pay more for water next year, but the cost will not be determined until January.

Camarillo city customers will begin paying 9 percent more beginning Jan. 1.

Camrosa provides water to Camarillo residents southeast of Lewis Road as well as to Mission Oaks and the Santa Rosa Valley. The city of Camarillo provides water northwest of Lewis Road.

The rate increases are an effort to keep pace with the cost of imported water from northern California.

The Calleguas Municipal Water District, which sells water to both Camrosa and the city, will change its price in January from $657 an acre foot to $769 an acre foot for the water each provider is allotted, said Camrosa General Manager Frank Royer.#
